In the year 2007 the Ice cream factory Jöklaís (Glacier Ice Cream) was founded at farm Árbær in collaboration with Brunnhóll guesthouse. The production is based on recipes from the company Farm house Ice cream in Netherlands, with special permission from it.
Brunnhóll is a family-friendly guesthouse in South east Iceland where the emphasis is on personal service and environmental issues. In a bright restaurant with a view to the Vatnajökull glacier, home-made refreshments are offered. Domestic refreshments are served in a bright restaurant with views to the glacier.
Proudly we provide our customer with high quality ice cream which does not contain any unnatural substances such as colouring, stabilisers, flavouring etc.

Short production process
We are proud to provide our customers with high-quality ice cream which does not contain any unnatural substances. Production process is short, starts in the morning along with milking the cows when the cream is separated from the fresh milk. The cream, mixed with milk, egg yolk, sugar and flavouring is then put in the ice cream machine where it´s pasteurized and cooled to freezing point. Jöklaís, the farm made ice cream thus be served within the same day the cow was milked. No conservatives are added to our ice cream. We emphasize on quality over quantity when making our ice cream so each portion delivers about 10 liters of fresh delicacy. it makes it possible for us to meet our customers demand and allow them to choose from different flavour.
