I was looking for a home away from home and Brunnholl was the perfect match for me. Super friendly and clean. I felt like I was part of the family. Looking forward to staying here again next year. It was the perfect quiet spot for me to get some work done while taking trips out to see the surroundings.

Rooms are very spacious and really clean. The heating in the floor was so pleasant on a cold, winter evening. We saw the northern lights from their courtyard and it was an awesome experience! It’s a perfect spot to see it, far away from any light pollution. You could even see them from the comfort of your bed. Breakfast was also decent and the staff was very friendly.

It’s much more better than my expectation. Even though it’s not close to any town, the hotel is stylish, super clean and warm. Also it offers good food and few breakfast. The owner and staff here are very friendly, they sent the postcard for us. It turns out to be one of the best places we stayed during Iceland trip

Everything was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the new wing and the room was incredible. Super large and comfortable. The breakfast was good, with homemade jams, porridge and bread. Lovely! It was the best hotel in our trip.

Our Surroundings

Fláajökull

The glacier you can see from Brunnhóll. One of many glacier tongues flowing from Vatnajökull glacier. ALso the most accessible one! Good hiking area.

Diamond beach

Black sands and beaches are common sight here. Most famous are Diamond beach and Stokksnes. It is also worth to visit Skinneyjarhöfði and Hvalnes.

Glacier lagoon

The large glacier lagoon is an unique place with icebergs constantly breaking off from the glacier and eventually drifting through the short river to the see.

Birdwatching

The southeast is an interesting area for birdwatching. Particularly in the spring and autumn, since it' s the birds' first and last stop on the way from and to Europe.

Vatnajökull

Vatnajökull glacier and its' vicinity is a national park and from 2019 on the UNESCO List due to the unique interaction of ice and fire.

Höfn Village

Höfn actually means harbour. It's the nearest village from here, known as the Capital of the icelandic langoustine. As well as the tourism, the fishing industry is very important.

Sunrise - sunset

Photographers love to visit the region of Vatnajökull for its' beautiful wonders such as the sunrises, sunsets, ice caves and northern lights

Wild animals

Reindeers are iconic for the Vatnajökull Region. Curious seals can be spotted by the shore. And if you are lucky you can meet an Artic fox, mostly in wintertime.
